The Government House has been labeled another "must see" with its exquisite gardens. The house itself on Rockland Avenue, east of downtown, is closed to the public; however, you may tour the gardens, which have been maintained for over a hundred years and cover 36 acres.
The formal gardens include winter, iris, perennial, sunken, rose garden, English country gardens and more. Government House is the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of the Province of British Columbia. Go to1401 Rockland Avenue, for a self-guided tour of the gardens that are open daily and charge no admission fee.
