The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is one of Canada's finest art museums; you’ll want to spend time here if you have an interest in art. When it first opened in 1951, the Gallery exhibited art in the historic 1889 mansion that is now adjacent to its seven modern galleries.
Today the mansion is where you’ll find the gift shop and administrative offices. With almost 16,000 works of art, the Art Gallery has the largest public collection in BC. On permanent display is the work of British Columbia's foremost historical artist Emily Carr.
The Gallery is also home to an important Asian art collection. This is located at 1040 Moss Street.
